Responded to a request on the Cosplay Network on Facebook and now I have a gig! Now that I'm on Uni break (thank god) a can do some stuff that I want to. I'm about to start making some lizard-people prosthetics for my theatre company and design some funky circus makeup, but like a weird messed up circus. So, as any sane person does, I'm watching American Horror Story Freak Show for inspiration, so far it's not as messed up as the second season, hopefully it stays that way.
Tomorrow I'll hopefully have a meeting with my director so we can start conceptualising the character makeup so I can get started, I think I have a month. It's a lot to get done, so I'll be a busy bee. My family is currently in the process of clearing out our garage so we can use it as a work space for our various things, luckily I have a big space for myself to do my weird creature making.
The new gig is for a student short film involving a torture scene with blood, right up my ally... not in a weird way though... hmm don't read into that. I'll be making some cuts on set which should be pretty straight-forward, so I'm looking forward to gaining the experience. I met with the crew today and they seem like good people to work with, so I'm pumped to get started!
Still working on getting the business cards up and running, should get them printed soon, now that exams are over I find myself procrastinating on this stuff slightly less, so that's ridiculous. Silly brain, it needs to learn to focus a tad more.
On an unrelated note, I went out and played some DnD with friends to celebrate the end of exams and got to dress as a semi-pirate to stay warm. Was a long, long night, but totally worth it. I play a half-elf rogue for anyone interested.
Alex over and out.
